The Myanmar Environmental Assessment Association (MEAA) convened its Annual General Meeting on July 20, 2025, at the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies (Fed. MES) building. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format that included both in-person and online components. The new Executive Committee for the 2025–2026 tenure had been selected and established during the meeting.
The following is the closing address delivered by the new Chairman.
Greetings.
Once more, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Professor Dr. Myint Oo, the Conference Chair, and to all the members in attendance for their honorable presence. I would like to express my official appreciation to the Central Executive Committee, which is led by Chairman U Soe Myint, for their steadfast dedication and invaluable contributions to the MEAA during their tenure.
Today represents a major turning point as we commence a new era for the MEAA. Although we will be reorganizing and operating under the new name “MESDI,” the MEAA’s fundamental values and original essence will remain firmly intact. Additionally, the dynamic integration of environmental and social initiatives into our broader scope will only serve to enhance and expand our operations.
We will also be inviting and appointing members to cover the current vacancies, which include one Central Executive Committee (CEC) position and nine Central Committee (CC) positions, to strengthen our organization and ensure we operate at full capacity.
In summary, I would like to assure all that the Central Executive Committee is entirely dedicated to making every effort to reunite our members and revitalize the association’s activities.
